Nutrition
Shared meals are an important part of each day at Glenmore Park Early Learning Centre.
Our aim is to nourish growing bodies and support children to build healthy, positive relationships with food in a warm, relaxed setting.
Nourishing growing bodies
We provide five nutritious meals and snacks each day, prepared onsite by our centre chef. Children enjoy breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack, so they have the energy they need to play, learn and rest.Â
Balanced, varied menus
Our rotating menus are designed to offer a balance of food groups and a variety of flavours and textures across the week. Children are offered familiar favourites alongside new tastes, with plenty of fruit, vegetables, wholegrains and iron-rich foods.Â

Healthy habits
Mealtimes are calm, unhurried and social. Educators sit with children, model positive eating habits and encourage children to listen to their bodies, try new foods at their own pace and practise self-help skills such as serving, pouring and tidying up.Â

Working with families
We work closely with families to understand each child’s dietary, allergy and cultural needs. Where required, individual meal plans are developed in consultation with families and medical advice they provide. We follow safe food-handling practices and clear labelling procedures.Â
